In Fallout 3, how do I drop items into workbenches, shelves, and tables, which are non-searchable?
Currently when I drop items inside my workbench in my Megaton house, they randomly drop around me instead of the top of the workbench.

press x to grab. and x agian to let go.
I blew up Megaton XD

Had to say it.
If playing on 360, click in the right thumbstick to grab things after you drop them.
If the item is in your inventory, open your Pip Boy inventory and press the button for drop (would be X on Xbox360). This will drop it into the world, if it is already laying there rather than in your inventory, you can skip that step. Then put your crosshair on it while close to it and press grab (click the right thumbstick on Xbox360 version). Now it is kinda floating in front of you, put it where you want it then press grab again to let go.

My guess is that it would also be right thumbstick click to grab on PS3, and probably the square button to drop, but it will say on the inventory menu. On PC you can set the controls to whatever you want, so you might need to look at your options to figure out how to grab.
You set the item on the floor. Then, you pick it up by clicking the right stick when it is over the thing. Finally, you move the item on the bench.
