Hi! Just moved into a home w/ a smallish 1.5 car garage. I'm a tinkerer / DIYer & need a workbench. My garage has exposed studs & after viewing this YouTube clip (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q1i01dz9anA) and this page (http://wayneofthewoods.com/workbench.html), I plan to use this design to maximize space (sticking w/ metal brackets instead of wooden ones, however). So I have the foundation for my bench, but I'm looking for other clever ideas to make it even more functional. Here's a few ideas I have so far: - single row of cubby compartments attached directly underneath the bench for extra storage - a row (or 2) of dog holes for bench dogs - a depressed tool trough / tray towards the back - long power strip built flush into the back-splash - board running on top of the back-splash to hold tools (like this picture: http://www.stilesdesigns.com/images/woodworking9b.jpg) Looking forward to some great tips from experienced pros to amateurs alike. ok, so i'm planning on building a good workbench for my garage that will go along the wall under the peg board. I want it to a good quality, but not too expensive. I don't have any plans, so if you could help me out here, then I would apprciate it... what type of lumber should i use and why? how much should it cost? what tools are necessary for this? and the obvious...how do i build it. thanks for reading.

I'm having a party and want to use the garage if it rains. My husband has workbenches and tools around the perimeter. How can I hide them? I thought about hanging curtains but can't figure out how. I want to hide 3 walls of stuff.

anyone know where to shop for affordable garage storage systems. I like units they sell at Sears by Craftsmen and Gladiator but they are out of my price range. I've checked Home Depot and Menards already. I don't want rubbermaid type. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
